From Prison to the Stage Thanks to JT Foxx

My palms are sweaty. I look confident on the outside but I’m nervous on the inside as JT introduces me to a crowd of 1,500 business professionals from all over the world.

I’m interviewing Fredrik Eklund of Million Dollar Listing NY at JT’s Family Reunion event in Orlando, FL. For those of you who don’t know Fredrik, he’s one of the top real estate agents in the US and is a famous reality TV star.

It’s hard to imagine that an ex-con that went to prison with a 7yr jail sentence can make it this far. The odds were so far stacked against me. Yet, here I am.

I owe my success to JT Foxx. We met at his MegaSpeaker event (Philadelphia) in August of 2016. At the time, I was unsure as to what I wanted to do with my life. All I knew is that I no longer wanted to be in the mortgage industry which is where I spent the last 14yrs of my life following my release from prison.

JT took the time to sit with me at the end of his event. I explained my interest in personal development. He stared into my eyes as if he knew me for years and told me “no” that that’s not where I’m headed. I was to be a business coach.

Something the way he said it had me hooked. I began implementing everything he taught me whether it was coaching from him directly, his live events, his book Millionaire Underdog, his audio programs, or his infamous JTFoxxWealthWorkout video program.

He made me realize the crucial mistake that I had done in my professional life up until this point. I always tried to do things on my own without asking for help. I’m an action taker, but I lacked guidance and direction. Therefore, my efforts would produce failure after failure.

I then saw the unprecedented value in having a coach guide me through my journey. His teachings allowed me to go from being lost with uncertainty to knowing precisely which steps I should take next.

Most importantly, he gave me confidence. My biggest fear was public speaking. When he invited me on his stage to speak, I had no choice but to break through my fear and listen to my coach.

From there, my world would never be the same. I was invited to speak in Sweden and the UK. I’d go on to create my own video program. Start my own marketing company that continues to grow. Become a business coach (as he told me I would when we first met). And, most importantly, find myself.

Here are just a few of the nuggets that JT has shared with me that’s made a monumental difference in my life:

  1. Be coachable.
  2. Be memorable. It’s not who you know that counts, it’s who knows you.
  3. Stop doing things that are transactional. Do things that are transformational.
  4. Take time for critical thinking to inspire ideas.
  5. Speed of implementation is vital. Take action now.
  6. Get an assistant. If you don’t have one, then you’re the assistant.
  7. Build a business that’ll grow even if you move on to another venture.
  8. Be 8 moves ahead of everyone else.
  9. Always have situational awareness.
  10. The best drug in the world is confidence.

I’ve now learned that the lack of confidence, fear, and excuses, are the 3 big hurdles that people face. They keep us from pursuing our passion and doing what we should be doing to find our own success.

The #1 best way to overcome these challenges in the quickest amount of time is to follow someone who’s already successful. Get mentors and coaches that are willing to show you the way. Then, simply listen to their advice, and take inspired action with no excuses.

A quote I once heard a while back just came to mind, “the only people who like change, are babies with wet diapers”. You must step out of your comfort zone and begin to feel comfortable with being uncomfortable. All of your success is there waiting for you as soon as you start doing things you’ve never done.

I know that raises the big question of where to begin. Most people never get going because they don’t know where to start. And that’s okay. You don’t have to know.

That’s why there are successful people on this planet like JT Foxx. He’s here to guide you, and show you the way that’s right for you.  He can help you break through your fear, give you confidence, and push you to let go of any detrimental excuses that may be holding you back. He’s the real deal.

After all, he is known as the World’s #1 Wealth Coach. Who better to follow than the best! He helped me find success, and he can do the same for you. Take inspired action. Follow him. Make him your coach. And I’ll see you at the top. #FamilyFirst
